1. Who we are
A-Stat Medical Transportation LLC ("A-Stat", "we", "our") operates a rideshare and non-emergency medical transportation network in Illinois. These Terms govern your use of our rider apps, driver apps, websites, SMS notifications, and related services (the "Services").
2. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account, requesting a ride, or continuing to use the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. Riders under 18 may only travel when accompanied by a verified adult account holder.
4. Independent drivers
A-Stat is a technology platform that connects independent transportation providers ("Drivers") with riders. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees of A-Stat. A-Stat is not the transportation provider and does not directly own or operate vehicles used to fulfill rides.
5. Fares, holds, and captures
When you request a ride we place a temporary authorization hold on your saved payment method for the quoted fare. Nothing posts to your card until the driver completes the trip. If a ride is canceled or never fulfilled, the hold is released and no charge is made. Refunds for completed rides are handled per our support policy; contact support@a-stattransit.site.
6. Cancellations
Riders may cancel a request before the driver arrives. Excessive cancellations (three or more in a 30-minute window) trigger a temporary 24-hour cooldown to prevent abuse. Drivers may decline rides at their discretion; the system will offer the ride to the next-nearest driver.
7. Rider conduct and safety
You agree to treat drivers, other riders, and the vehicles with respect. Illegal activity, harassment, or property damage will result in account suspension. Riders whose average rating falls below 3.0 (with at least 5 ratings) will be automatically blocked from booking further rides.
8. Health information (NEMT rides only)
If you are traveling under a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) benefit or broker booking, some of your health information may be shared with the assigned Driver and their Transportation Provider for the purpose of fulfilling the ride, as permitted by 45 CFR § 164.502(a) (Health Care Operations). 9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, A-Stat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is capped at the fares you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Arbitration and class-action waiver
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Cook County, Illinois. You waive the right to participate in class actions. This clause does not restrict your right to file a claim in small-claims court.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be sent by email or SMS to your registered contact. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
